EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso County has a new voluneer coordinator.
Monica Jasso started in the role with County Operations on Aug. 5, the County said.
The County says she has more than 25 years of experience working with youth, adult learners and volunteers in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, the County said.
Jasso is a native El Pasoan who attended Texas A&M University.
“I am honored and humbled to take on the role of volunteer coordinator for the El Paso County. I look forward to collaborating with our many departments so that we may partner alongside volunteers to advance our shared mission. My aim is to not only enhance our operational capacity as a result but to strengthen the spirit of volunteerism throughout our County,” Jasso said.
Jasso volunteers with BOOST, Border Out-of-School Time Network, a hub for “out-of-school time providers” to increase the quality and effectivneess of programs for youth and family throughout the region, according to the County.
Jasso is also considered a “subject-matter expert” on volunteerism and has spoken before numerous groups.
