KTSM News – Flooding in Central El Paso strands cars, obstructs traffic

UPDATE: TxDOT reports that all lanes on I-10 West are now open. Gateway West at Cotton remains closed to traffic due to flooding.

Earlier tonight, EPFD responded to vehicles stuck in the water at the following intersections:
Missouri Ave/Cebada St.

Huevo Ave/Lina St.

Missouri Ave/Magnolia St.

I10/Missouri

Ave Montana Ave/Copia St.

River Hollow/Fonseca Dr.

No injures were reported

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM)—Thundershowers passing through our area left many streets flooded, causing major backups on El Paso’s roads.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, I-10 West at the Missouri has been closed due to flooding and traffic backing up to Copia St.

Our crews report cars stranded in the water.

It is crucial that all drivers heed the advice of TxDOT and the El Paso Fire Department and steer clear of flooded areas.
