KTSM News – Social media threat leads to increased security at Santa Teresa Elementary School

Posted on September 23, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Gadsden Independent School District (ISD) is working closely with the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office after a social media threat was made against Santa Teresa Elementary School late Sunday night, Sept. 22, the school district said in a press release early Monday morning, Sept. 23.

GISD says the Sunland Park Police Department initially received the report, and law enforcement has since identified the person responsible for making the threat.

No credible danger has been identified and the school district is taking precautionary measures by increasing security at Santa Teresa Elementary School, GISD said.

“The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and the district will continue to monitor the situation in close collaboration with law enforcement,” GISD said.
