KTSM News – CRRUA: Hydrant flushing may lead to discolored water

Posted on October 21, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority says some of its customers could see discolored water because the Sunland Park Fire Department will be testing hydrants in the northern part of the community, CRRUA said Monday, Oct. 21.

Water remains safe to drink, but CRRUA recommends waiting to wash laundry until water becomes clear.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours, CRRUA said.

CRRUA said if water discoloration doesn’t disappear within 24 hours, you should flush all faucets for several minutes.
