Boo at the Zoo

Families can enjoy a wild Halloween weekend during Boo at the Zoo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 26-27, at the El Paso Zoo, 4001 E Paisano Drive. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring a trick-or-treat bag, or pick one up at the zoo, to collect goodies throughout the venue. The event will feature animal encounters, children’s activities, games and Halloween decorations. Information: elpasozoo.org

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

The YWCA El Paso del Norte Region invites the community to the annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event Thursday, Oct. 24, at San Jacinto Plaza. The walk encourages men and boys to take a stand against domestic violence by walking in heels to raise awareness and funds for the YWCA Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center.

Registration opens at 5 p.m. and the walk begins at 6 p.m., followed by an after-party with live music, food and drinks. Team registration is $25 per participant, with free admission for spectators. Information and registration: ywcaelpaso.org

Ascarate Park Fall Festival and Zombie Run

The Ascarate Park Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat, hosted by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and county Parks and Recreation, invites families for an evening of spooky fun from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

The event will feature a variety of activities, including the first-ever Zombie Run at 6 p.m., where participants will dash through the park while avoiding “zombies” who will attempt to take flags that runners will wear around their waists. The festival will also offer trunk-or-treat, live music, costume contests and more. Admission is free for the festival, with registration fees required for the Zombie Run.
