EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso’s Department of Public Health is partnering up with the El Paso Fire Department to host a free drive-thru flu vaccination clinic this Saturday, Nov. 16, at Abundant East, the City said in a press release.
The drive-thru event will be from 8 a.m. through 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Abundant East located at 1000 Valley Crest Drive.
The City says the drive-thru clinic will be offering flu shots for individuals six months and older. No appointment or insurance is necessary at the event. The first 150 people who attend will receive a free “Be Powerful” t-shirt and other giveaways.
“Each fall and winter, we see a rise in respiratory illnesses, with influenza posing a significant risk due to its potential for severe complications, including hospitalization and even death,” said Dr. Hector Ocaranza, City-County Health Authority. “The flu vaccine is a powerful tool in our fight against these dangers, offering protection that can prevent serious illness and save lives. We strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated before flu season peaks.”
