EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Hotel Paso Del Norte is inviting the community to welcome in the holiday season with its 2nd annual tree lighting ceremony.
The festivities will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the hotel, located at 10 Henry Trost Ct.
Guests can enjoy the free event with snacks and drinks while they wait for Santa Claus to help light the tree.
El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser and the El Paso Fire Department will also assist in kicking off the holiday season.
The following is the itinerary of the event:
4:30 p.m.: Enjoy cookie decorating, s’mores, and a Mexican hot chocolate stand while waiting for Santa and his elves and the spectacular lighting of the giant tree. Guests can also enjoy the life-size gingerbread house in the lobby of the hotel.
5 p.m.: Local school children will get the crowd in the holiday spirit with festive holiday carols.
5:25 p.m.: Santa Claus is arriving in style this holiday season, escorted by the El Paso Fire Department and joined by his elves. El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser and Santa will lead the tree-lighting ceremony.
5:40 p.m.: Admire the beautiful Christmas tree and the hotel’s stunning holiday decor, while you enjoy the fabulous festivities and treats the hotel has to offer.
6 p.m.: Enjoy more Christmas carols from local schoolchildren while having the opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus himself.
In addition to the festivities, the hotel will be making a donation to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office “Santa With a Badge” toy drive.
