EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — It will be Louisville vs. Washington in the 91st annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game in a matchup that pits two schools who haven’t made the trip to El Paso in decades.
The Sun Bowl Association made the announcement on Sunday, Dec. 8 during its selection party at the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino.

Louisville, 8-4 overall, will represent the Atlantic Coast Conference in the game. Washington was picked from former Pac-12 teams. The Huskies just finished their first year in the Big Ten and finished with a 6-6 overall record.
Louisville was 5-3 in the ACC and Washington was 4-5 in the Big Ten.
The game will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the Sun Bowl.
Louisville has played in the Sun Bowl one time — beating Drake 34-20 in the 1957 game.
Washington has played in the Sun Bowl four times, going 1-3. The Huskies beat Texas 14-7 in 1979, lost to Alabama 28-6 in 1986, lost to Iowa 38-18 in 1995 and lost to Purdue 34-24 in 2002.
