EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a winter break camp for children during the holiday season.
The activity-filled camp for children in kindergarten through fifth grade will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the following days:
Dec. 23
Dec. 24
Dec. 27
Dec. 30
Jan. 2
Jan. 3
Camp will not be held on Dec. 25-26 or Jan. 1.
According to the City of Las Cruces, two camp locations are available at Meercheidt Recreation Center at 1600 E. Hadley Ave. and at the WIA Building at 340 N. Reynolds.
Registration will be open on Monday, Dec. 8, and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can complete the registration online through the “Out-of-School Time” website or in person at the following locations:
Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday; 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell Ave., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The camp is $20 per child with breakfast and lunch being provided each day, the City of Las Cruces said.
Children are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, a pillow and a blanket for rest time.
