EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – New Mexico State women’s basketball secured a 68-60 win against New Mexico at the Pan American Center on Sunday to secure its second victory over the Lobos over the weekend.
NMSU defeated UNM Friday, 81-71 at The Pit in Albuquerque, NM.
In Sunday’s edition of the Rio Grande Rivalry, Aggies would fall behind in the first three minutes of the game. Head coach Jody Adams and company were able to respond quickly, turning things around not trailing for the remainder of the first half. NMSU would enter the locker room at the half with the one point lead, 33-32.
Into the third it would be anyone’s game with five lead changes and four ties. Molly Kaiser would knock down nine points in the fourth and final quarter to help the Aggies secure the win on its home court.
Kaiser finished with a team high 30-points while shooting perfect from the charity stripe sinking nine-of-nine.
Aggies move to a 6-3 record on the season before taking to the road to face Tarleton State on Dec. 16th, followed by No. 13 Kansas State on Dec. 18th.
