KTSM News – Otero County Processing center donates toys for giveaway

Posted on December 13, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Officials with the Otero County Processing Center purchased toys and donated them to a Borderland ministry to be distributed during an upcoming toy giveaway that benefits El Paso children, the center said in a news release.

Chaplain David Ruiz and Community Relations Manager Arlette Villa shopped for toys last week and they were donated to the Kingdom Builders Prison Ministry’s first toy drive for children in Northeast El Paso.

Pastor Samuel Griffin, with Kingdom Builders, has been a religious volunteer for the men and women detained at the facility.

The toys, for newborns to 13-year-olds, were purchased with the Community Relations fund of the facility; these funds are used to serve the community with donations similar to this, the facility said in a news release.
