EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Texas Highway Patrol troopers are investigating what they are calling a “major crash” in Culberson County on Friday night, Dec. 13, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
Just before 8 p.m., a semitruck and trailer was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 131 when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a passenger vehicle along with another semitruck.
The crash happened about 10 miles west of Van Horn.
DPS said Interstate 10 West is closed at the crash site and traffic is backed up about 2 1/2 miles.
Traffic is being diverted onto the shoulder of the highway, DPS said.
Injuries are reported as being minor and cleanup is under way.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
