Posted on December 15, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was injured in a crash this weekend in Hudspeth County, DPS said.

The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 along Interstate 10 near Mile Marker 95.

A semitruck towing a low-bed trailer attempted a U-turn in the center cross-over area when the trailer became stranded in the roadway, blocking both westbound lanes, DPS said.

The trooper was traveling westbound on I10 and struck the trailer. The trooper was taken to a hospital in El Paso and is in stable condition, DPS said.

The incident remains under investigation.
