KTSM News – Into the 70s before snow chances next week — Your 9 Day Forecast

Posted on January 1, 2025

Happy New Year, my friends. For me, this holiday season was very special because my oldest son Mason married Jessica Marie Elliott on Dec. 21, 2024. The wedding was in Valley View, Texas (north of Dallas). My son was born in El Paso 25 years ago, and the bittersweet passage of time sometimes overwhelms. It seems just like yesterday Amy and I were announcing his birth.

I returned from vacation to very warm, very mild weather. Today’s high was 64, and tomorrow we’ll be close to 70! But that thing called “winter” will arrive next week, and if you love snow, yes, we have a chance!

TONIGHT:   The skies will be clear early but turn partly cloudy overnight.  The winds will be light and variable at 5-10 mph.  The low will drop to 36.

FORECAST:    Thursday will be mostly sunny with just a few clouds and warmer with a high of 70.  The NW winds will range from 5-10 mph.  Friday will be mostly sunny and even warmer with a high of 72.  The variable winds will range from 5-10 mph.  Saturday will be mostly sunny and windy with a high of 74.  The west winds will pick up and gust to near 35 mph.  Winds will be strongest on the east slopes, and we could see a slight dusty haze by late day. Sunday will be mostly sunny and a little cooler with a high of 67.  Monday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a high of 62. Tuesday will be cloudy and 55.
