Posted on January 11, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Commission for Women is now accepting nominations for its Women’s Hall of Fame.

This annual event “celebrates exceptional women in El Paso County who have made lasting contributions in fields such as civic leadership, education, military service, professional careers, athletics and more,” organizers said in a news release.

The Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will take place at noon on Saturday, March 29 at the El Paso Community College Administration Building, 9050 Viscount Blvd.

During the banquet, honorees will be recognized for their accomplishments, and their names will be permanently displayed at El Paso City Hall and the El Paso County Courthouse, the news release said.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees include Manuela Gomez and Adeeba Raheem, who have been recognized for their contributions to education and professional leadership, organizers said.

Past inductees also include U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar and now retired County Attorney Jo Ann Bernal.

Community members are encouraged to nominate outstanding women for this honor. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 17.
