EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Bishop Mark J. Seitz along with other community leaders will be holding a press conference on Thursday, Jan. 23 at St. Patrick Cathedral to address the several recent immigration policies that were recently enacted by the Trump Administration, according to a press release from the Diocese of El Paso.
The press conference will be at 1 p.m. on the steps of St. Patrick Cathedral. The Diocese has provided a list of speakers that will be present. Those speakers are the following:
- Dylan Corbett, Executive Director, Hope Border Institute
- Bishop Mark J. Seitz, Bishop of El Paso
- Hon. Christina Sanchez, El Paso County Attorney
- Dr. Glenn Fennelly, MD, MPH, President, Doctors of the World
- Ms. Leah Hanany, El Paso Independent School District Board Trustee, District 1
- Hon. Ricardo Samaniego, El Paso County Judge
- Ms. Melissa Lopez, Executive Director, Estrella del Paso
- Ms. Susan E. Goodell, CEO, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank
- Hon Chris Canales, Representative, El Paso City Council District 8
The Diocese says the press conference will address the impact of several immigration policies enacted by the Trump Administration, focusing on their “humanitarian, social, and community implications in relation to churches, medical facilities and schools, in particular for the aid of migrants and refugees.”
