EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Las Cruces firefighters quickly put our a structure fire that was originally reported as a brush fire Thursday afternoon, Jan. 23.
At about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were dispatched to the report of a brush fire along the 400 block of North Melendres. Upon arrival, crews encountered “heavy fire” coming from a shed in the backyard and another building, the Las Cruces Fire Department said.
The fire was brought under control in less than 15 minutes and firefighters were able to prevent damage to nearby properties.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire and estimated loss are still under investigation
