EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of Las Cruces is calling all interested artists to sign up for the its “Chalk Walk” sidewalk art event coming up in March.
The annual Chalk Walk will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 in the Las Cruces Museums courtyard. The event is put on by the City of Las Cruces’ Quality of Life Department and its Public Art program, the Las Cruces Museums and the City Art Board.
Artists will receive an honorarium and will be entered to win a cash prize presented by the Foundation for Las Cruces Museums.
Interested artists are encouraged to complete an application and submit a concept sketch to be considered to enter the competition, the City of Las Cruces said.
The deadline to submit the application and sketch is Friday, Feb. 21.
Participants will be chosen by the City Art Board selection committee.
