EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Applications are now being accepted for the MountainStar Sports Group Amigo Airsho Skybound Scholarship.
This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from El Paso County and Doña Ana County who are planning to pursue careers in aviation, aerospace, or space studies.
Eligible applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary institution and work toward a two-year or four-year degree in these fields.
This year, MSSG Amigo Airsho will present up to seven $2,500 Aviator Awards, including one funded by Suzanne Azar in honor of Dick Azar, co-founder of Amigo Airsho, and another sponsored by FirstLight Community Foundation. Additional funding comes from contributions made by air show volunteers and donations from ticket holders.
One $5,000 Top Gun Award will be granted to a student who has demonstrated to be a “Top Gun” through exceptional community service and leadership, MSSG Amigo Airsho said.
The Top Gun Award was funded by Ross and Chris Docksey in honor of Alan and Patty Russell.
“Education is the foundation upon which dreams take flight,” said Alan Russell, MSSG Amigo Airsho chairman. “It is an honor to support the next generation of innovators and leaders who will shape the future of aviation and aerospace.”
High school seniors in El Paso County and Doña Ana County are encouraged to apply online by April 4.
