EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 60-year-old El Paso man is dead after he lost control of his vehicle in a rollover crash late Saturday night, Feb. 1 in Central El Paso, El Paso Police said.
Police say 60-year-old Juan Antonio Ortega was killed in the crash that happened a little after 10 p.m. on Saturday along Interstate 10 near Trowbridge.
Ortega was traveling east on Interstate 10 near Trowbridge when he lost control, veered to the right, and struck a curb, police said.
Ortega’s vehicle landed on Gateway East, hitting another vehicle. That collision caused Ortega’s vehicle to roll over, ejecting the driver, police said.
Ortega died at the scene.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
Police said it is not known if a semi-truck made contact with Ortega’s vehicle while he was driving along Interstate 10 prior to the crash.
Police said this is the fourth traffic fatality of the year.
