Yesterday the Mexican Army posted up on Avenida Juarez.

What were they looking for?

Fentanyl? Venezuelans? The approval of the American president?

While I was there they didn’t pop any trunks, or ask anyone to get out of their cars. They just stood there, looking slightly menacing with their balaclavas and assault rifles.

Somehow I don’t feel any safer in the presence of uniformed armed men, but that’s probably the result of the way I was brought up.
