Border Report – Grupo Frontera responds to political allegations

Posted on February 10, 2025

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The popular Norteño group, Grupo Frontera, has responded to allegations of their affiliations endorsing President Donald Trump.

For weeks on social media, especially TikTok, videos have been circulating accusing Grupo Frontera of supporting Trump.

Many fans were outraged by the allegations and have even set up a petition on change.org to remove the group from the Sueño Music Festival in Chicago.

The petition states, “Grupo Frontera has been caught and found out to be Trump Supporters. This does not sit well with Latinos who may or may not be fans of the group but will not support Racism.”

The statement also added, “We Latinos stand united in boycotting Grupo Frontera and if they are not removed from the line-up, we will go as far as Boycotting Sueños Music Festival as well.”

On Friday evening, Grupo Frontera broke their silence by posting on social media a statement clearing up the allegations.

“Queremos aclarar que en Grupo Frontera NO tenemos afiliación con ningún partido político que este en contra de los inmigrantes y la comunidad latina,” the statement reads.

The quote is translated to “We want to clarify that Grupo Frontera does NOT affiliate with any political party that is against the immigrant or Latin community.”

In the statement, they added that just like many of their fans, their families and members have fought for a better future and will forever be on the side of their people, defending their roots and values.

“Es importante que sepan que las opiniones de familiares y amigos no representan a Grupo Frontera.” The group said. “Nosotros somos inmigrantes somos de la frontera, y Grupo Frontera siempre sera de su gente y para su gente.”

Their quote translates to, ” It is important for you all to know that the opinions of our families and friends do not represent Grupo Frontera. We are immigrants, we are from the border and Grupo Frontera will always be of its people and for its people.”

The members have shared this statement on their Instagram stories.
