EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – An alleged Chuco Tango gang member was arrested on Monday, Feb. 10, and is facing several charges including aggravated assault with a weapon causing serious bodily injury, the El Paso County Constable Office’s for Precinct 3 said.
The Constable’s Office said Anthony Brian Chavarria, 23, was charged with: aggravated assault with a weapon causing serious bodily injury with a $120,000 bond; assault family violence/impeding breath/circulation with a $100,000 bond; and violation bond/protective order assault/stalking with a $100,000 bond.
Chavarria was arrested after El Paso Constable Office’s for Precinct 3 and 4 received information of his active criminal warrants on Feb. 10, the Constable’s Office said.
Chavarria was taken into custody at the 1900 block of Amy Sue after a short standoff, the Constable’s Office said.
He was booked into the El Paso County Jail without further incident, the Constable’s Office added.
The Constable’s Office said “Chavarria is a confirmed Chuco Tango gang member.”
The aggravated assault case came from El Paso Police Department situation at the 1600 block of N. Zaragoza on Jan. 28, the Constable’s Office said.
The Constable’s Office said “Chavarria pistol whipped the victim on the face,” and a warrant was secured and filed at the Municipal Court.
