EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person was rescued after being stuck in an elevator Tuesday afternoon in Sunland Park, New Mexico, because the building lost power from the winds, Sunland Park Fire said.

The incident happened just before 2:30 p.m. along the 4900 block of Monarch Ave.
The man, who was in his 50s, was stuck in the elevator for nearly an hour, Sunland Park Fire said.
They were originally called out on an alarm activation call to the building, which is at the industrial park in Santa Teresa.
Once on scene, they were notified that a man was stuck in the elevator. They then called for one of their engines that carries elevator keys.
Sunland Park Fire said they have had these type of rescues a few times at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino and the hotel at the casino, but they don’t see these type of rescues very often.
