KTSM News – ‘Belle of the Ball’ accepting dress donations for prom dress giveaway

Posted on February 18, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — For many, prom is a rite of passage. And a local organization, Belle of the Ball, wants to make sure everyone is feeling and looking their best that night.

The organization, which was started by Amelie Perches, a Loretto High School student, and a group of her friends, collects prom dresses and then donates them to those who need them.

“It really is like helping these girls, and it’s really creating a moment for them that never forget. Prom is just such a memorable night that I think everyone should have a fun time at,” Perches said.

The goal this year is to collect 800 dresses. The group is hoping to reach that goal before the dress giveaway event on March 23.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ella Blu Boutique, 5410 N. Mesa St., where anyone can come and pick out one dress for free.

If you have any dresses you’d like to donate, you can drop them off at Ella Blu Boutique or Bridal Novias, 6974 Gateway East.

For more information on dress donations or the event you can visit the group’s Instagram for updates.
