EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) –Eastlake High School had what is being called a “small” fire in the food/culinary arts part of the school and it was quickly put out on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 25, a spokesman with Socorro Independent School District said.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the school’s sprinkler system, the spokesman said.
There were no injuries and everyone was reported as being safe.
Students were evacuated and released early from school.
Horizon Fire Chief Kris Menendez said the fire happened a little after 2:30 p.m. Five fire units and 20 personnel responded. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office, Menendez said.
