EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person had to be airlifted after becoming trapped by construction equipment Friday afternoon, Feb. 28 in El Paso’s Lower Valley, El Paso Fire said.
El Paso Fire initially responded to reports of an individual trapped in a trench just before 3 p.m. Friday along the 800 block of Winn Road.
The individual was not trapped or squished but was blocked by construction machinery and needed help getting out, a Fire Department spokesperson said. At that point, the special rescue operation was called off.
The person was transported Code 3 (serious injuries) by the Fire Department’s helicopter.
