KTSM News – Traffic stop results in arrest of man with warrants in Horizon

Posted on March 1, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A traffic stop in Horizon City resulted in the arrest of a 47-year-old man who was wanted for threatening to “publish intimate visual material,” the Horizon Police Department said.

Blas Compean, 47, was arrested during a traffic stop Friday, Feb. 28 along 13600 block of Ryderwood Avenue in Horizon City, that city’s Police Department said.

Police observed a vehicle stop in the main travel lane to drop off a passenger. Officers then initiated a traffic stop because of the violation, Horizon Police said.

During a routine background check on the driver, Compean, they found three active arrest warrants for threat to publish intimate visual material with a total bond of $75,000.

Compean was taken into custody without incident and taken to El Paso County Jail.
