Posted on March 17, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A call center in East El Paso had to be evacuated Monday night, March 17 after the smell of gas was reported, the El Paso Fire Department said.

Fire crews responded a little after 8:30 p.m. Monday to the Spectrum call center along the 1300 block of Lomaland, a Fire Department spokesperson said.

The Fire Department and Texas Gas responded and the building was cleared. No readings of gas or carbon monoxide were found, the spokesperson said.

Twenty people refused transport, the spokesperson said. Four people were transported Code 1 (minor), they added.

The building was turned over to call center management.
