bluebonnet season texasBurnet, on the northern edge of the Hill Country, is officially known as the Bluebonnet Capital of Texas, which is not to be confused with the official Bluebonnet City of Texas. That honor belongs to Ennis, about 35 miles southeast of Dallas, home to 40 miles of driving trails to follow the flower. And don’t forget Chappell Hill, an hour northeast of Houston, which hosts the Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Festival each year in mid-April. But if you were to visit any of these towns right now, you likely wouldn’t see many of these beloved indigo flowers—yet.As you might have noticed already, this year is not shaping up to be a banner one for bluebonnets, thanks to the winter’s cold snaps and drought conditions…
