KTSM News – Baskin-Robbins to ‘re-open’ new location near UTEP

Posted on March 28, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of specialty ice-cream shops, will host a grand opening this weekend for its newly relocated store in the Kern Place area near UTEP.

Local franchise owners will celebrate the reopening of the shop from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at 3500 N. Mesa Street, Suite G.

The original location near UTEP was closed down during the winter and is being reopened about a block away from its previous location.

The new location features a drive-thru and a new, more modern look, Baskin-Robbins said.

The new store will feature the company’s new “moments” concept.

During the event, guests will have a chance to spin the Baskin-Robbins prize wheel to win free ice cream for a year and they can enjoy 31-cent ice cream scoops.

Guests can also enjoy an on-site raffle during the event, branded merchandise giveaways from the Baskin-Robbins prize wheel, photo opportunities with Baskin-Robbins’ mascot Coney, music and more.

“We’re incredibly excited to celebrate the grand opening of our new Baskin-Robbins shop in El Paso, now featuring a convenient drive-thru,” said Baskin-Robbins franchisee Vanessa Herrera. “After 20 wonderful years of serving our community, we’re thrilled to continue creating sweet memories over ice cream with our loyal customers while welcoming new faces to our shop.”

At noon Saturday, Baskin-Robbins franchisees Herrera and Grace Hauser will host the shop’s official ribbon-cutting with the El Paso community and present $1,000 to Candlelighters.

“The new Baskin-Robbins location showcases a reimagined design with a fresh, modern look, creating a vibrant space where guests can celebrate the happiness ice cream brings to every moment, big or small,” according to a news release.

Spanning 1,500 square feet, the shop employs 12 people and is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The new store design includes the following features, with descriptions provided by Baskin-Robbins:
