EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for shooting a victim in the foot and fleeing the scene in November 2023 in Ruidoso Downs, County of Lincoln, according to the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Bryan Irvin, 41, was sentenced on Wednesday, March 26, to the Department of Corrections for nine years on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.
Back on Nov. 26, 2023, Ruidoso Downs Police responded to a shooting at 127 North Central. Police requested assistance, and the investigation was carried out by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, according to the District Attorney’s Office in Alamogordo.
According to the DA’s Office, law enforcement learned that Irvin shot a victim in the foot and fled the scene.
Deputies found Irvin and took him into custody, according to the DA’s Office.
On Nov. 4, 2024, Irvin was convicted of those charges by a Lincoln County jury.
