EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The community is invited to attend the grand opening and open house of the newly renovated Department of Public Health Administration building happening this week in Northeast El Paso.
The City of El Paso said the event will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, at 9566 Railroad Dr.
“This new facility allows us to consolidate all Department of Public Health administrative divisions, facilitating an efficient operation of the health department which allows better delivery of services to the community,” said Public Health Director Veerinder “Vinny” Taneja. “This location also offers a Community Clinic providing much needed immunizations to our Northeast El Paso community, improving access to essential preventive healthcare services.”
The renovated 31,200-square-foot facility will serve as the central hub for public health administrative staff and multiple program divisions, the City said.
The City said key upgrades include:
- Modern offices, conference rooms, and welcoming reception and waiting areas.
- State-of-the-art training rooms equipped with advanced audiovisual technology.
- Upgraded restrooms, expanded storage areas, and a comfortable breakroom.
- Enhanced security with surveillance cameras, access control systems, and new furnishings.
“This $8.5 million renovation project was managed by the City’s Capital Improvement Department and funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), reinforcing the City’s commitment to building a healthier and more sustainable future for El Paso,” read a news release by the City.
In addition, following the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the newly renovated facility and a mobile unit, the City said.
