Posted on April 4, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A “traffic-related incident” involving a Milam Elementary School student prompted a response from El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) staff, the district’s Police Services, and Military Police on Friday morning, April 4, the district said in a statement sent to KTSM.

The student was not injured, according to the statement.

The statement reads as follows:

“This morning, during drop-off at Milam Elementary, a traffic-related incident involving a student prompted an immediate response from El Paso ISD staff, ISD Police Services, and the Military Police. Fortunately, the student was not injured. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We urge all families to drive carefully and to remind their children to stay alert and use designated crosswalks, especially during busy drop-off and pick-up times. We appreciate our community’s cooperation and support in keeping our campuses safe.”

Milam Elementary is an EPISD school that is located on Fort Bliss.
