EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Three students in the Canutillo Independent School District have been accepted to Ivy League schools and two others have been accepted to other prestigious East Coast schools, the district said.
The students are attending Northwest Early College High School and will graduate this spring as part of Class of 2025.
Northwest Early College, a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon campus, had a ceremony and celebrated the three students on Friday, April 4.
The school honored the following students for their admission to Ivy League
schools:
● Yamilette Contreras, admitted to Yale University
● Fatima Garcia Meraz, admitted to Princeton University
● Sebastian Esparza, admitted to the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).
Additionally, Northwest Early celebrated seniors Brandon Enciso for being admitted
to Northeastern University in Boston and Aladeotan Falola for being admitted
with a full-ride scholarship to Washington and Lee University in Virginia as part of
the QuestBridge Program.
