EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Sierra County man has been charged with sexual exploitation of children after New Mexico State Police found child pornography uploaded to a cloud account.
John Palmerin, 44, was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of children and booked in the Sierra County Adult Detention Center.
According to New Mexico State Police, the department’s Investigations Bureau received a tip, reporting several images of child pornography were uploaded to a cloud account.
Agents confirmed Palmerin was the account owner for both the phone number and email address associated with the cloud account that had 17 images of child pornographic material, NMSP said.
On April 2, a search warrant was executed for Palmerin’s residence, where agents found dozens more images of child pornography on various devices, NMSP said.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security assisted in the investigation by obtaining federal subpoenas in the case, according to New Mexico State Police.
