EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City will host an Earth Day celebration this weekend at a Lower Valley park.
The event will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Ralph T. Cloud Park, formerly Yucca Park, at Yarbrough and Carolina.
There will be live entertainment, educational booths, free pet adoptions by El Paso Animal Services and a free Glow for the Planet 3K run/walk, put on by LIVE Active El Paso.
The event will feature more than 50 booths, including environmental organizations, food trucks and local vendors.
“We invite the entire community to come out and celebrate the Earth,” El Paso Environmental Services Director Nicholas Ybarra said. “We will have lots of free entertainment, raffles, and interactive games for children and families to make learning about important environmental topics, like waste reduction, fun.”
Event schedule:
· 5 p.m.: Opening ceremony
· 5:15 p.m.: Performance by DJ Mazo Vibe
· 6 p.m.: Wrestling matches by Lucha League
· 7 p.m.: Performance by DJ Johnny Kage
· 7:30 p.m.: Glow for the Planet 3K Run/Walk by Live Active El Paso, and Fire Dancers by Hanna Entertainment
