Posted on April 10, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Alderete Middle School and Canutillo Elementary School were placed on “secure protocol” on Thursday, April 10, as a precaution due to police activity around the campuses, Canutillo Independent School District said on its Facebook page.

“All students and staff are safe, but access to the school is limited as a precaution,” Canutillo ISD said.

The district said that all outdoor activities have been moved inside, and instruction continues.

This is a developing story, and we will update once we learn more.
