KTSM News – Docs: Man kills, disembowels dad; Says he was an alien

Posted on April 15, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 39-year-old man was recently arrested and charged with murder for allegedly killing and disemboweling his dad, saying he didn’t recognize him as his dad but as an alien, according to court documents obtained by KTSM.

Man arrested for murder in ‘suspicious’ unattended death

As we previously reported, Jaime Adrian Contreras, 39, was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center Facility under a $2 million bond on the charge of murder in the death of Victor Gerardo Contreras, 74, according to El Paso Police.

According to court documents, on Saturday, April 12, EPPD officers were dispatched to 11755 Ronald McNair Dr. to a reported “unattended death.”

The call was made when a victim’s family member entered the victim’s house, as he had not heard from him for approximately a week. The family member said both the front and back doors were locked. However, the victim’s bedroom window was open, and he noticed the smell of “rotting flesh emanating from the residence,” according to court documents.

According to court documents, upon entering the home, the family member observed something covered with a sheet on the floor in the victim’s room. He lifted the sheet, which was covered in blood, and recognized the victim’s face, and also noticed head trauma. The family member also noticed that the victim appeared to be bloated.

The family member then exited the home to find that the victim’s Jeep Wrangler was missing, according to court documents.

According to court documents, the family member said he sent Jaime Contreras multiple messages. He said that he knew Jaime Contreras had read the message, but did not reply.

Detectives obtained a statement from the family member’s wife, who said she had last spoken to the victim over the phone on April 5, two separate times, according to court documents.

According to court documents, the first time she said the victim told her that he was having problems with Jaime Contreras, saying “he was acting crazy again.”

While she was speaking to the victim over the phone, Jaime Contreras took his phone away and stated that the victim wanted to sell the house, and he was not happy about that. After that, the victim was able to take his phone back and told her that he had called the police, according to court documents.

According to court documents, minutes later on the same day, the victim called her again and said everything was fine, but did not elaborate on what the officers did.

Later on, on April 12, the family member’s wife said that while she was at the victim’s home, she was approached by a neighbor who told her she had not seen the victim and that Jaime Contreras had been moving the Jeep around. And at one point, the neighbor had seen Jaime Contreras yelling in the middle of the street, according to court documents.

According to court documents, detectives were able to contact one of the victim’s neighbors, who said that he observed the Jeep to be parked on streets near Ronald McNair Drive. He added that he would see Jaime Contreras get out of the vehicle and walk towards the home, where he would stay for hours. The neighbor said he found this odd because he knew the vehicle belonged to the victim.

Detectives executed a search warrant for the home and observed suspected blood throughout the home, indicating a possible struggle, according to court documents.

According to court documents, the medical examiner investigator arrived at the scene where she conducted her preliminary investigation.

The sheet was removed from the victim, which revealed he was “disemboweled.” The victim also appeared to have a slit throat and several stab wounds around the neck area. It was determined that the victim did suffer a head injury, according to court documents.

According to court documents, while at the scene, detectives were notified that the Jeep and Jaime Contreras were located near Hueco Tanks. Detectives and Crimes Against Persons made it to Hueco Tanks, where Jaime Contreras said the vehicle belonged to the victim.

When Jaime Contreras was asked about the victim, he said he was “in heaven,” according to court documents.

According to court documents, further investigation revealed that on April 5, the victim called the police for assistance and said Jaime Contreras was “threatening him and killed his pets.” Officers responded to the call, where it was closed out as “checking okay” reference mental health.

Later that day, the victim called 911 and said that Jaime Contreras had hit him and had a hammer on his person. Comments further stated that Jaime Contreras threatened the victim, telling him, “Give me my power,” then went upstairs, according to court documents.

According to court documents, officers responded to the call, which was closed out as a mental health call, as the victim did not tell them that he was hit with the hammer, as he had advised dispatch.

Detectives met with officers who were dispatched to the call on April 5, when Jaime Contreras had a hammer. The officer stated that during the call, a silver mallet with an orange or red handle was located in the living room on the couch. The hammer was taken away and given to the victim, according to court documents.

According to court documents, Jaime Contreras had a swollen right hand and a deep laceration to his right pinky. Jaime Contreras said that he had obtained those injuries as a result of “battling.”

When asked what Jaime Contreras meant about battling, he clarified that he was fighting. He proceeded to say that an alien had harvested his organs a few days ago, according to court documents.

According to court documents, back in 2023, officers were dispatched to the home about an emergency detention order, where the officers were told that Jaime Contreras believed the victim was an alien. The report indicated that Jaime Contreras did walk around the neighborhood holding a decapitated rabbit.

Two months later in 2023, officers were once again sent to the home, where this time, officers were told that Jaime Contreras believed the victim was an alien and did not recognize him as his dad, according to court documents.
