This is this week’s “Crime of the Week,” as publicized by Crime Stoppers.
At about 2 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, near the Five Points area, a 32-year-old man was driving a 2017 red TaoTao scooter south on the 900 block of Peidras and was making a left turn onto Tularosa.
As the motorcyclist was making the left turn, a dark-colored Chevrolet was traveling north on Peidras in the left-turn-only lane without headlights, according to Crime Stoppers.

The driver of the Chevrolet continued traveling north, struck the motorcyclist and fled the scene, according to Crime Stoppers.
According to Crime Stoppers, the motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Crime Stoppers describes the vehicle that fled as a dark-colored, four-door Chevrolet, similar to a Malibu or Impala.
In addition, El Paso Police said the Chevrolet should have notable damage to the front of the vehicle.
