EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is leading an investigation into the death of a male subject who was initially discovered early Sunday morning, April 20, at a truck stop in East El Paso County and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office said at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, the Socorro Police Department responded to a welfare check at the Petro Stopping Center, 1295 Horizon Blvd.
A male subject, no age given, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The Socorro Police Department requested the assistance of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, which is now leading the investigation.
The identity of the person who died is being withheld pending notification of family, the Sheriff’s Office said.
No additional information is available at this time, the Sheriff’s Office said.
