EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The City of El Paso will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Fire Station No. 16 renovations this week in Northeast El Paso.
The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, 24, at the fire station located at 3828 Hercules Ave., the City said.
The City said this fire station supporting fire protection and emergency response received the following improvements:
- Renovations to the interior and exterior of the facility
- Upgrades to HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
- Condition site improvements to the parking lot
- Installation of ADA compliant parking space, sidewalks and ramps
- New windows, ceiling, doors, floor tile and a new coat of paint for the facility
- New decontamination room and personal protective equipment storage
This marks the 13th project completed under the voter-approved 2019 Public Safety Bond, which has contributed more than $61 million in community investment to date, the City said.
The City said the bond provides critical funding to renovate and build new emergency response facilities, enabling the fire and police departments to deliver exceptional service and enhance public safety across El Paso.
“The Fire Station No. 16 Renovation Project, with an approximate budget of $1.89 million, reflects the City of El Paso’s continued commitment to strengthening public safety operations and maintaining its reputation as one of the safest cities in the nation,” read the news release by the City.”
