EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso’s Department of Public Health (DPH) is extending the hours of the Northeast Community Clinic to include Saturdays for those seeking free measles vaccinations, the City said in a press release on Wednesday, April 30.
Starting this weekend, the clinic located at 9566 Railroad Dr., will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
The clinic is also open on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The clinic provides free measles vaccinations through walk-in immunization services. To schedule, call (915) 212-6555.
The City says health officials are urging residents to get vaccinated against measles if they have not received the MMR vaccine or are unsure of their vaccination status.
“The measles vaccine (MMR) is highly effective, providing 97% protection with two doses. While the vaccine is not 100% foolproof, those who are vaccinated and contract measles are less likely to experience severe complications or spread the virus to others,” the City said.
