EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso artist unveiled a new mural in Downtown El Paso to kick off the first-ever Michelada Fest.

According to the news release, the mural is a “lasting tribute to the City’s creative spirit, musical talent and the community that continues to shape El Paso’s cultural identity.”

Michelada Fest will be from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at the intersection of East Main Street and North Kansas Street in Downtown El Paso.

The music festival, presented by Independent Nation and hosted by Kyrstall Poppin, is a one-day event that celebrates Latino culture and music, according to the news release by Michelada Fest.

According to the news release, the music festival will feature the following artists:

  • Netón Vega
  • Chino Pacas
  • Snow Tha Product
  • Calle 24
  • Jasiel Nuñez
  • Tito Torbellino Jr.

In addition to the music, guests can enjoy various michelada and food vendors, Michelada Fest said.

A michelada is an iced Mexican cocktail that is typically made with beer, lime juice, assorted sauces and spices with a salted or chili powder rim. Some recipes just include beer, lime juice, ice and salt.

According to Michelada Fest, a michelada is the “perfect drink to symbolize that blend of culture (Mexican-American culture).”

All ages are welcome to the music festival and children 12 and under can enter for free.

To purchase your tickets, you can visit the Michelada Fest’s website.

Guests can purchase general admission tickets that start at $69 or VIP tickets that start at $159.

The VIP experience allows guests to enjoy front-row access to the main stage, premium bars, private bottle service booths, glam stations and express entry to the festival, according to Michelada Fest.
