EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) El Paso has released a list of road closures for the week of May 2 that could affect your commute.
I-10 Widening West
Monday, May 5, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- North Desert at Transmountain Entrance Ramp (ENT 05) full closure.
- Detour: Traffic to proceed onto Transmountain Entrance Ramp to I-10 westbound main lanes, continue I-10 and exit at Westway exit ramp.
Crews will be working on high mast lighting fixture installation.
Monday, May 5 through Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
- North Desert and South Desert between Anthony and Redd alternate lane closures.
- Redd east and westbound at North and South Desert intersections alternate lane closures.
Crews will be working on electrical and miscellaneous construction work.
- I-10 west and eastbound between Redd and Resler alternate lane closures.
Crews will be paving.
Until further notice, 24/7
- South Desert between Vinton and Transmountain closed.
- Detour: Traffic will detour down Vinton to Doniphan to Talbot to Spur 16 to South Desert.
- Redd East-to-West and West-to-East turnaround closed.
- Detour: Traffic through intersection at Redd.
- I-10 eastbound at Mesa entrance ramp closed
- Detour: Traffic to continue onto CD Lanes and enter I-10 eastbound after Sunland Park.
Crews will be doing construction work.
I-10 Widening West 2
Sunday, May 4, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-10 eastbound between Anthony and Vinton full closure.
- All traffic will exit at the Anthony Exit and proceed through the intersections of Antonio/Vinton and enter I-10 East at the Vinton On-Ramp.
Crews will be working on beam placement.
Monday, May 5 through Thursday, May 8, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-10 westbound between Kingsway and Anthony left lane closed.
- I-10 eastbound between Anthony and Valley Chile complete closure.
- Detour: Traffic will exit at the Anthony Exit and proceed through the intersection of Antonio St and enter I-10 East at the Valley Chile On-Ramp.
Crews will be working on beam placement.
Monday, May 5 through Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
- I-10 east and westbound between Anthony and Nashua alternate lane closure.
- North and South Desert between Anthony and Nashua alternate lane closure.
Crews will be working on dirt work and miscellaneous removals.
Continuous Closure
Through Spring 2026
- Valley Chile Road Turnaround closed.
- Detour: Traffic on North Desert will need to proceed to Anthony, TX and utilize the North-to-South turnaround. Traffic on South Desert will need to proceed to Vinton and utilize the South-to-North turnaround.
Crews will be reconstructing and widening the bridge at Valley Chile Road.

Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Artcraft east and westbound between the stateline and Doniphan alternate lane closures.
Crews will be working on installing temporary traffic signals and temporary detours.

Crews will be paving and boring in median.
Loop 375 Widening Project

- Americas Avenue (frontage road) north and southbound at North Loop Drive, Alameda Avenue and Pan American Drive alternating turnaround closures and intersection lanes closures.
Crews will be working on painting concrete structures and bridge sign placements.
Horizon/Darrington Reconstruction Project
Monday, May 5, to Friday, May 9, daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Horizon Boulevard westbound right lane closed at Darrington Road.
- Horizon Boulevard eastbound right shoulder closed at Darrington Road.
Crews will be boring conduit for future traffic signals.

Crews will be working on switching driveway entrances along Horizon Boulevard.

Crews will be working on pouring concrete curbs.
I-10 Landscape & Aesthetic Project

- Gateway East Boulevard left lane closure between Zaragoza Road and Henry Brennan Drive.
- IH-10 westbound various right lane and shoulder closures between George Dieter Drive and Yarbrough Drive.
- IH-10 westbound various exit and entrance ramp closures between George Dieter Drive and Yarbrough Drive.
Crews will be painting concrete riprap, landscaping, placing concrete riprap, and placing decorative metalwork.
