EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 53-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Saturday morning, May 3, in East El Paso County, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).
At roughly 1:30 a.m. on May 3, deputies with the Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of Perlite Drive and South Ascencion Street.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, due to the severity of the crash, the Special Traffic Investigations Unit took over the investigation.
Preliminary investigation found that a white pickup truck was traveling southbound on South Ascencion Street when it veered off the roadway and rolled over, EPCSO said.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Bonifacio Chavez, 53, of Socorro.
Chavez was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, according to EPCSO.
