EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department and Crime Stoppers of El Paso are asking for your help in identifying a man who stole a vehicle and dragged another man for several feet last month in Northeast El Paso.
This is this week’s Crime of the Week, as publicized by Crime Stoppers of El Paso.
At 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, along the 8200 block of Echo Street, a man in his 60s was taking groceries from his vehicle to his house, Crime Stoppers said.
During this time, the suspect, who was walking by the home, ran and jumped into the driver’s seat of the victim’s vehicle, according to Crime Stoppers.
The suspect was then confronted by the victim and the suspect placed the vehicle in gear, according to Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers said when the vehicle was in gear, the victim was dragged several feet.
In footage shared by Crime Stoppers, the suspect could be seen fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.
According to Crime Stoppers, the suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 40s, bald, has a medium to large build and may have a short beard.


In addition, the suspect wore a black sweater and blue jeans during the incident.
The stolen vehicle is described as a white 2005 GMC Yukon with Texas disabled veteran plates 1SFFT.
