KTSM News – Gravel spill closes part of U.S. 70 in Las Cruces

Posted on May 16, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Part of U.S. 70 in Las Cruces is closed on Friday afternoon, May 16 because of a gravel spill, the New Mexico Department of Transportation said.

Westbound traffic on U.S. 70 is closed at mile marker 155, both the NMDOT and State Police said. That is between the Porter and Mesa Grande exits on U.S. 70.

The cause of the closure is a gravel spill, they said.

No time frame was given on how long it would take to clear the road.
