EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 43-year-old man from Amarillo, Texas, is dead after his vehicle rolled this weekend in a crash in Hudspeth County and he was ejected.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said Travis Abernathy, 43, was driving westbound at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 along Interstate 10 in Hudspeth County.
The crash happened about 18 miles west of Sierra Blanca when the tires on the left side of Abernathy’s vehicle “malfunctioned,” DPS said. He lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and rolled multiple times, DPS said.
Abernathy was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said.
The crash remains under investigation, DPS said.
