KTSM News – Docs: Teenage boy stabs teenage girl in El Paso’s Lower Valley

Posted on May 20, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 17-year-old boy is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing a teenage girl and attempting to stab her father last month in El Paso’s Lower Valley, according to court documents obtained by KTSM.

Angel Adrian Maximo Martinez, 17, is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he approached a teenage girl from behind and began to stab her unprovoked on Friday evening, April 4, in a neighborhood in the Lower Valley, according to court documents.

Court documents say officers were dispatched at around 4 p.m. that Friday to a fight in progress at a neighborhood in the Lower Valley.

Officers met with the victim’s father, who told police that Martinez had stabbed his daughter multiple times.

The victim’s father told police that Martinez also tried to stab him multiple times, but the blade did not go through as the victim’s father was wearing a sweater, according to court documents.

The victim’s father told police that his daughter was moved from the street into a home after the attack and that his daughter was dying.

Officers then entered the residence and located a teenage girl who was bleeding from multiple areas of her body, according to court documents.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage that showed Martinez walking up to the teenage girl from behind, grabbing her and stabbing her multiple times, according to court documents.

The video showed that the attack was unprovoked and also showed the victim’s father and a witness running out of their home to provide aid to the teenage girl as she was lying on the ground, according to court documents.

Surveillance footage also showed Martinez stabbing the victim while she was on the ground while the victim screamed for help, according to court documents.

While processing the scene, investigators located a knife with a bent tip that was suspected to have been used in the incident by Martinez, according to court documents.

The teenage girl was transported to a local hospital and was rushed into surgery. The victim also suffered from multiple lacerations to her back, face, neck, hands, and arms.

Investigators met briefly with the victim while she was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit and asked her what had happened.

The victim told investigators that Martinez had told her, “Don’t scream” while he was attacking her, according to court documents.

Martinez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on Saturday, April 5, under a total bond of $1,075,000.
